Daniel Bohrer is a composer based in Cologne, Germany.
Introduced to music at an early age through his grandfather, Daniel has been playing the piano since he was ten.
At the age of 16 he taught himself to play the guitar.
2020, at the beginning of his film music journey, he encountered synthesizers.
In 2021 he finished his first film project.
Since then, Daniel has worked with various directors on different projects.
Inspiration for his work are composers and musicians as Nick Cave, Max Richter, Joe Hisaishi, Alexandre Desplat or Ryuichi Sakamoto.
For each project, Daniel dives into a variety of musical genres and instrumentation, from intimate piano to dark synths up to orchestral arrangements. Personally, he is very much drawn to atmospheric, melancholic and meditative sounds where often the piano takes the center stage.
Daniel composes and produces his music in his home studio.
Besides the piano he also has guitars, synthesizers, accordion and a wide range of sample libraries at his disposal.
He also records singers or individual soloists here.
Daniel Bohrer completed training at the International Academy for Film Acting (iaf) from 2014 to 2017.
This influence, in addition to his fundamental passion for music, led him into the field of film music.
Through his training he looks at films in a more specific way to let the music become a powerful part of the story.
